My Latest Reading List – April 2019

Author Reading list (1)

Over the past few months I haven’t had a chance to read much, but I thought I’d share with you what I have read so far. As any other avid ready, I have many books waiting in the wings to be read. I have just been hectically busy the past few months.

The Battle Plan for Prayer by The Kendrick Brothers

The battle plan for prayer

About the book: Inspired by the Kendrick Brothers’ new movie, War Room, this exciting new resource from the #1 best-selling author team behind The Love Dare and The Resolution for Men is designed to help anyone learn how to become a powerful person of prayer. The Battle Plan for Prayer begins with prayer’s core purpose, its biblical design, and its impact throughout history. Readers will be guided scripturally through the fundamentals of how effective prayer works, inspired towards a closer, more intimate relationship with God, and shown how to develop specific prayer strategies for each area of life. Prayer can accomplish what a willing God can accomplish. It should be your first plan of attack in all of life’s battles, not your last resort. If you want to experience the joy of mightily answered prayer, then it’s time to engage with God at another level.

My review: I finally finished this book. It was so packed full of information that I would sometimes read certain pages or chapters over again. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that would like to learn how to do your prayer battle plan. This book will be staying in my bookshelf.

Secrets and Sacrifice by Juliette Duncan

Secrets and Sacrifice

About the book: “SECRETS AND SACRIFICE” is the sequel to the highly acclaimed “Shadows Trilogy” books, but can also be read as a stand-alone novel. When Grace O’Connor arrives in the Scottish Highlands, she’s hiding a secret and trailing more baggage than she cares to admit. Grace’s sister, Brianna, has a history linked to Grace’s secret.
There, amongst the rugged Scottish Highlands and a community of caring, loving Christians, Grace meets the handsome Ryan MacGregor, an ex-military Paratrooper with a history of his own.
As the secrets of Grace’s past unravel and the sacrifices she’s made are thrown back at her, Grace faces the biggest decision of her life. As everything she has believed is turned upside down, Grace realizes that the walls she’s worked so hard at building have been for no reason whatsoever, and she now needs to discover who the real Grace O’Connor is.
A Christian romance including real-life challenges, and a story line to touch reader’s hearts and draw them closer to God.

My review: When I started this book, I wasn’t too sure about it, but after I had finished the first chapter, I was completely into it. So much so, that I finished it in one day! I loved the plot twists and the surprises in it. Truly a wonderful read.

Deep Blue Secret by Christie Anderson

Deep Blue Secret

About the book: California teen Sadie James thinks her life couldn’t get any better. She has great friends, an energetic mother she adores, and the beach practically in her own backyard. But her carefree life is turned upside down when she’s rescued by a mysterious and strangely familiar boy who won’t even tell her his name. Each time the boy appears, Sadie’s unexplainable attraction to him deepens along with her need to unravel his secrets. The boy is there to protect her. But as wonderful and exciting as it might be to have an irresistible boy with crystal green eyes protecting her every move, every minute of the day . . . why does Sadie need one? As Sadie finds answers, she realizes her life isn’t as perfect as she thought. Not only is she caught in a world of dangerous secret agents she never knew existed, but it turns out her true identity may be the greatest secret of all.

My review: Besides the stunning cover, this book was really quite brilliant. The plot twists were very good and unexpected and it was a nice and relaxed read. I loved the way Sadie is protected by this ‘irresistible boy’ which almost seems to be part of her imagination at first. I wouldn’t mind reading the others in the series.

Awake by Ashleigh Giannoccaro

Awake

About the book: “Maybe next time I kiss you, you’ll be awake.”
When a handsome man walks into her life, Ivy falls hard. He quickly fills her dreams at night, and her thoughts during the day. But, when dreams and reality blur, is a dangerous grey area.
Kian can’t sleep at night, but watching Ivy as she slumbers has become his addiction — even before he met her.

My review: This best-selling author is quite brilliant and even though this book is not in the genre that I would usually enjoy, I loved the way the story was written. Ashleigh definitely has an imagination for the creepy psycho stuff (ha ha). This book was free and it was the first book in the series. The next book is ‘Are you awake?’ and then it’s ‘Don’t wake up’. If you enjoy Erotic Horror’s, then you will enjoy Ashleigh’s books.
