Still a very happy birthday to you if your birthday is in May. This lovely birthstone symbolizes emotional endurance.

The Agate comes in different colours and is a member of the Quartz family and was named in 1570. The colours are usually arranged in stripes, blended in little clouds or they show moss-like forms.

It was said to be the eighth stone in the breastplate of the high priest, and it’s named after the River Achetes in Sicily. It is usually cut in ‘slices’ in order to show the lines and patterns o the inside, more effectively.

The Agate comes in colours of brown, white, red, gray, pink, black, yellow, orange, blue, purple and green. Some of the Agate stones look like they have a galaxy etched into them and are quite stunning.
