Symbolizes health and longevity
This is the second birthstone for June. Once again, happy birthday, if your birthday is in June!
A moonstone is a transparent or translucent feldspar of pearly or opaline lustre which was name in 1632. The best moonstones are clear with a silky or blue sheen or ‘adularescence’ as this play of light is known. They came from Burma and Sri Lanka, but they are now rare.
A moonstone was once known as the ‘Traveller’s stone’ and was used for protection against the dangers of travel. According to legend, the brightness of the moonstone increases as the new moon becomes full.
This stone is one of my favourite stones and my jewellery box has quite a few of them.
This necklace was made with crystals, howlite gemstone, fresh water pearls, seed beads glass beads and a moonstone pendant. The price is R315. To place your order, please complete the form on my ‘Contact me’ page. I would also love to hear from you, so please leave a comment below.
Keep your crystal on and your sparkle strong
