I have always enjoyed doodling curly lines, flowers, leaves and so forth but I have never thought that I could draw more than that. I have looked at other people’s doodles and thought that they are artists and I could not achieve any of those results because I am not an artist.
That was until I did a product swop with another author. She took my 2020 planner and poetry book and I took her doodle book. This was the best idea! I was first drawn to her book (Lol, drawn) because she hand drew the whole book and then had it publish like that. It is so beautiful! Then, she shows you from the start of a doodle to the end of one. There is even a CD included in the book.
If you check her Facebook page, you will see that she also gives classes on doodling and other creative things.
The books name is ‘A step-by-step guide to hand letters & doodle magic’ and the author and creator is Lisa Nadene. I am in love with this book and spent the time I wasn’t writing and reading this weekend, doing my doodling.

I thought I’d share my creations with you because I am quite proud of the outcome. I didn’t think I could do it.

I started with the bookmarks for the FiloFax Planner which I will be using for 2020.

I then went onto my A4 size drawing pad and did this camera for my Social Media Marketing Flip File where I keep all my social media ideas and tips & tricks.

Lastly, for the weekend, I did a front and back cover for my music flip file. It’s for the music I’m currently practicing.
This is by no means the last I’ll ever do because I have so many ideas for other file covers and Storm also wants bookmarks for her Filofax.
Doodling has a very similar effect as the adult colouring in books. I didn’t start that trend when it came out (Storm did though) because I thought that I just don’t have the time for that type of thing. What I realized this weekend is that you need to have down time. Time where you can shut off and create. You need to make time for this. I put a series on, surrounded myself with my doodling materials that I currently have and got stuck in.
I was so relaxed and at peace. It’s extremely therapeutic. Thanks Lisa for an awesome book and for showing me a different creative side of myself.
Now I have to force myself to work instead of doodle, ha ha ha!
That’s it from me today.
I would also love to hear from you, so please leave a comment below.
