What can I say? It’s been a hectic few months. If I look back, it feels like there was an error in my code and I glitched my way into December. As always, I feel like I got nothing done and the self critic in me wants to give myself a talking to, but then I get out my planner and see…but wait a minute…I got a lot done!
I then mentally hold my planner at myself like a weapon and warn myself to back away slowly. Yes, we are all crazy in here. It helps sometimes. In the olden days, authors and poets smoked opium, over here…we’re just a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket. No opium required. Do they even make opium anymore, I mean, besides the perfume? I digress, back to what I was saying…what was I saying? Oh yes! This is my update (for recording purposes and such).
In October, I took part in Preptober. This is where authors get ready for NaNoWriMo in November. I did my storyboard and then redid it to a smaller, more manageable size in November. I worked out were I wanted the story to go and how I wanted it to get there. Even though I worked this all out, I still left most of the story open to write as I go along. This is because I’m a Planster (a Planner and Pantser in one).
In November, I did NaNoWriMo. If you don’t know what that is, you can go here for the blog I did on it. I first thought I might not be able to do it, but with God’s help, I finished my target and won NaNoWriMo by writing over 50 000 in 30 days (November). This was amazing to me because my first book is over 94 000 and it took me almost two years to write it. The second book is over 50 000 and I wrote it in a month. Yes, I’m very proud…can you tell?
An update on Iridescent; some Beta Readers still have it and I’m doing the second edit on it right now. I have also started working with someone on the cover and wrap around. All exciting stuff.
Epiphany, which is the second book in the series, was the one I wrote in Nano. When I’ve done editing the first book, I will move onto the second one for it’s first edit and will then hand it to the Beta Readers. I’m working with someone on that cover at the moment too.
Just to let you know, if you would still like to buy a planner or desk calendar from me, you can complete the ‘Contact me’ page under the ‘Communicate’ tab and I will still assist you.
Now, for my last point today…I’m taking a hiatus. Yes, I know. It’s going to snow. It took a lot of convincing but I eventually agreed that it would probably be a good idea to take a break. It will start on the 19th of December 2019 and I’ll be back online on the 6th of December 2020. What this means is that I will not be doing any blogs or video’s. I won’t be on Instagram or Twitter, unless I have something exciting for Instagram. My Facebook pages will still go on because they have been scheduled till the end of January.
You will still be getting two posts from me next week, but then it will relaxing time (no, that’s not something you eat). I’m still a mother and a wife, so it will be supposed relaxing time because a mother and wife is always on duty, right ladies?
That’s it from me for now…
