Osa-Belia Update – January 2020

I don’t know about you but life has been very busy on my end. Not so much with jewellery making, but with life in general. I have been fixing some of my jewellery and changing it a bit to suit my needs more. I have also been busy with the beginning of the Grade 12 school year. It’s only January and I already want to go sit in a corner rocking myself and sucking my blankie, my thumb or a bottle of tequila. Homeschooling is no joke, especially when you reach the higher grades.

I mean, have you seen the Mathematics lately? I’m sure it’s the language of aliens and they secretly trying to brainwash our children so that they can take over our world! My daughter still asked if I couldn’t teach her by looking at my answer book, seeing how the sum is done and then teaching her how to do it. I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair, I thought she was joking…she wasn’t. Darling child of mine, I dropped Maths in Grade 9 when you’re allowed to drop subjects and, in those days, we could still drop Maths. How, on this beautiful Earth of ours, do you think I will get that right? Nowadays you can’t drop Maths, you have to take it and I keep thinking how much in the doodoo I would be if that was the case when I was school!

Anyway…let me get off that subject before I reach for the tequila and coffee home-made cocktail again.

I have to be honest, I haven’t done much with jewellery lately. I have approached a few people to find out if they want to sell on my behalf and get a commission for it. I have also asked my printers for pricing on doing catalogues. That is as far as I’ve gotten.

I have been sewing, practicing music, homeschooling and doing my author stuff the most lately. When I do the catalogues, then I’ll show you in a post and a video. (Videos are another thing I haven’t gotten to lately…hectic!)

That’s it from me today. Thought I would give you a short overview on what I’ve been up to lately. I would also love to hear from you, so please leave a comment below.
