Osa-Belia Update – March 2020

Since the 27th of March 2020, South Africa has been in lockdown due to the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately, at the same time, my stepdad had to go into the hospital for a biopsy and my mom had to take him. She was concerned about being alone, so I have stayed here until he gets released which sounds like it will be tomorrow which is wonderful for her, my stepdad, and for me.

She has been missing him terribly and very worried about him as he doesn’t have his phone with him and she can’t talk to him. She is also not allowed at the hospital until she fetches him.

My grandfather, on the other hand, has Dementia and is oblivious to everything. He asks the same questions about 600 times a day and makes the same jokes. I still laugh though because he still needs to feel his self-worth. He has always been quite naughty and probably always will be.

I, however, can’t wait to go home and be with my hubbie and daughter as well. I am missing them buckets loads too.

I am grateful that I have the Lord giving me strength to deal with everything, otherwise I might become a basket case. But I can safely say that I still have the joy and peace of the Lord. I pray it stays that way.

I haven’t been making any jewellery lately, but I am working on changing a few items that haven’t sold. I had to put the catalogues on pause because my printers are also closed.

I’ve just been cleaning the house, making video’s and doing little bit of gardening (and for those that know me personally…no, I’m not lying and please don’t faint). I’ve been quite proud of our baby tomatoes that are growing.

I’m currently watching ‘The Greatest Showman’ again and am reminded, once again, what a brilliant movie it is.
