If you haven’t heard about Pinterest, then you need to sit down because this will blow your mind! Don’t scoff, I have met people that didn’t know…yes, seriously! They didn’t know! No, no…don’t run away. We don’t judge here. For those that know about Pinterest, we are all part of the community of Pinners that are more addicted to Pinterest than to cheese cake (be honest, your spouse isn’t watching you now).
If you’re anything like me, you look at your WIFI usage breakdown at the end of the month and see that Pinterest stands out about all the rest (even YouTube! I know, it’s scandalous!). When others are scrolling through Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, the crafting and creative junkies are scrolling Pinterest.
You have probably already got a 1TB Hard Drive full of ideas that you want to try but will most likely never get to because you don’t have enough life for the amount you want to try…even if you did something every.single.day!
Does this stop you from scrolling endlessly through Pinterest? Pinning, sharing and downloading ideas? Nope, not in the slightest. Why? Well, it’s obvious! It’s because you never know when you might need that craft idea.
Okay, okay. For those that have no idea what Pinterest is, I can give you what Wikipedia says it is:
Pinterest is an American image sharing and social media service designed to enable saving and discovery of information on the World Wide Web using images and, on a smaller scale, animated GIFs and videos, in the form of pinboards.
– Wikipedia
For those of us that know better, our definition is ‘Socially acceptable craft and knowledge addiction platform which enable us to share our addiction with others’.
If you would like to go and have a look at what Pinterest looks like, you can click here and see my page. Disclaimer though, it’s not my fault if you become addicted because you searched the latest nacho recipe and your mind was blown by the vast amount of ideas that came your way…not my fault.
If you do decide to go and have a look, I can promise you that you will never look back again. Every time you search for anything and the Pinterest algorithm notices, you will then start receiving mails from them with ideas of things you might like to see. Try and not devour those mails up because they not food and we don’t want anyone being rushed to the hospital for over stimulation (as if that could happen…most of the pinners would be hospitalised).
On a more serious side… If you follow me here, then you will know that I believe in upskilling myself and not waiting for someone else to teach me what to do. Pinterest plays heavily into that. If I want to know anything, and I mean anything, then I go and search it on Pinterest and will probably find it. My motto lately has not only been ‘Just Google it’ but it has also become ‘Just Pinterest it’.

I can’t even mention the amount of information that you can find on Pinterest these days because I will be here for a long time but you can go and have a look for yourself. Knowledge is power.
That’s it from me for now… I’m going to go and look for something to make on Pinterest. Ssshh, I know I have thousands of ideas already! Who cares? **evil laugh**
