My Thoughts

I heard about this book one day when I was watching one of Joyce Meyer’s sermons on YouTube. It’s where I hear about her books most of the time, or even her podcasts. This book is a Biblical study of the book of Philippians. Studying this book with the Bible affected me in such a way because a lot of the scriptures in Philippians opened up to me and I understood them. A lot of the times I had a light bulb moment.

I learned many valuable lessons from doing this study book. It helped with a lot of areas in my Christian walk that I often struggle with. It helped me grow spiritually in many ways. If I had to choose one, I would say it’s the part where Joyce says that ‘God requires us to take steps of faith without knowing exactly what we are stepping into. Only after we have done that will He show us what He can do.’ That hit me close to home. I have received this message in a few places now and have now decided that I should obey God and take that step of faith.

Any books that I read from Joyce Meyer cause me to want to serve the Lord more vibrantly and have a closer relationship with him. This book about Philippians caused me to praise the Lord because I was once again reminded of his majesty, grace, and love for me. And how much He wants you to know His love for you. I always enjoy Joyce’s writing style. Her content is humorous but also informative. She uses her own life as an example and this helps me relate to it better.

All of Joyce’s books are biblically sound as she always refers back to scripture. She backs everything up with scripture and if she can’t, she tells you she can’t but that it’s how she feels. That happens rarely though. I have read many books by Joyce Meyer and still have many more on my TBR list. Overall, I thought this book was brilliant. I always learn a lot when I read anything by Joyce Meyer and this book was no exception. I thank God for her and that she was obedient to His call to ministry.
