Most of us here on this beautiful planet struggle with something or other. And as humans we usually veer towards the negative speech way of life and start to speak a lot of negativity over ourselves, our situations and our families. It takes a concerted effort to speak positively.

I made a list for myself that I speak over myself, my family and my circumstances and I start each day with this. In this way, it makes sure that my day is hemmed with a positive note and when I want to be negative, I tend to recall what I confessed in the morning and it usually stops me.

I am going to share a shorter version of that list with you because I would like you to start speaking positivity into your life and I hope this list helps. You can amend it according to the issues that you struggle with. For example, if you have issues with anger, then search verses that pertain to anger and make them into a confession for yourself.

Biblical Affirmations

1. I am a child of God. (John 1:12)
2. I am chosen and dearly loved. (Colossians 3:12)
3. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)
4. I am forgiven through Christ. (Ephesians 1:7)
5. I am a new creation in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
6. I am God’s workmanship, created for good works. (Ephesians 2:10)
7. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19)
8. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)
9. I am strong and courageous, for the Lord is with me. (Joshua 1:9)
10. No weapon formed against me will prosper but every tongue that rises against me in judgement, I shall show to be in the wrong. (Isaiah 54:17)
11. God is my refuge and strength, my ever-present help. (Psalm 46:1)
12. The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing. (Psalm 23:1)
13. I am dead to sin and alive unto righteousness. (Romans 6:11)
14. I take every thought captive unto the obedience of Jesus Christ, casting down every imagination and every high and lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
15. I have peace that surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
16. God’s perfect love casts out my fear. (1 John 4:18)
17. I am always a positive encouragement. I edify and build up; I never tear down or destroy. (Romans 15:2)
18. I cast all my cares on Him, for He cares for me. (1 Peter 5:7)
19. I am not anxious, for God’s peace guards my heart and mind. (Philippians 4:6–7)
20. The joy of the Lord is my strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)
21. I catch the enemy in all of his deceitful lies. I cast them down and choose rather to believe the Word of God. (John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 2:11; 10:5)
22. I am a believer not a doubter. (Mark 5:36)
23. I am slow to speak, quick to hear and slow to anger. (James 1:19)
24. I do what I say I will do and I get where I am going on time. (Luke 16:10; 2 Peter 3:14)
25. My God supplies all my needs according to His riches. (Philippians 4:19)
26. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he; therefore, all of my thoughts are positive. I do not allow Satan to use my spirit as a garbage dump by meditating on negative things that he offers me. (Proverbs 23:7)
27. I don’t speak negative things. (Ephesians 4:29)
28. I am blessed coming in and blessed going out. (Deuteronomy 28:6)
29. I don’t have a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound min. I am a person of discipline and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7)
30. The Lord makes me the head and not the tail. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
31. I have the Holy Spirit in me so I am clothed with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)
32. I do all my work excellently and with great prudence, making the most of all of my time. (Ecclesiastes 9:10; Proverbs 22:29; Ephesians 5:15-16)
33. The Lord’s goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life. (Psalm 23:6)
34. I am more than a conqueror through Christ. (Romans 8:37)
35. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
36. I am creative because the Holy Spirit lives in me. (John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 6:19)
37. I prosper in everything I put my hands to. I have prosperity and favour in all areas of my life; spiritually, financially, mentally, socially and in business. (Jeremiah 29:11)
38. I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony. (Revelation 12:11)
39. I have a teachable spirit. (2 Timothy 2:24)
40. I take good care of my body. I eat right, I look good, I feel good and I weigh what God wants me to weigh. (1 Corinthians 9:27; 1 Timothy 4:8)
41. I can enjoy my life! I will enjoy my life! (John 10:10)

These are only a few of the ones that I speak over myself daily but I thought it would give you a good idea of what you could put on your list. You can add things that you struggle with and speak God’s Word over yourself to help you overcome your struggle.

God’s Word is powerful and alive and when you speak it over yourself daily, you will start to see a difference in your life and your way of thinking. You don’t have to take my word for it, try it and see for yourself. It’s not magic so it won’t work overnight but you will eventually see a difference. When you do see those differences, then you should put them in your prayer journal so that you can take note of how far you’ve come. That is always a motivator.
